Job Poster (Book Report)
*April 29th- Computer Research Day (in-Class)
Due date: May 8
*Information on paper for this project will be given on April 10th
1. First you will research a job that you might
want to have or find interesting- Find out all
that you can about it.
(* This will be done one day in the computer lab.-
You may research at home as well.)
2. You will divide (into 1/4ths), illustrate,
analyze, and label a poster to demonstrate the
importance of this job to a community.
3. Sections: Be sure to use entire section.
• A= This section you will illustrate yourself
in this particular job. Write the name of
the job at the TOP of this section.
• B= List 5 things that you like about the
job. (make sure that your words are clear
and large)
• C= List 5 things that this job contributes
to a community- 5 ways that it benefits a
community to have this job in it.
• D=List 5 ways a community would suffer
without having this job in it.
4. Create a border around the edge.
5. Place your name/class period on the front -
bottom right hand corner.
6. Use Color in each section.

Mrs. Norton’s Language Arts 3rd nine weeks book report
Newspaper Project
Book Requirements:
*Any genre *Must be an AR book
*2+ points
*grade level no lower than 3.8
Book Report Due Date: February 22, 08
AR test due dates:
Regular: Feb. 4
Enriched: Feb. 4, March 3
Assignment:
You will create a 1 page newspaper (FRONT ONLY). It will contain at least 6 sections. All 6 sections will pertain to the book, its characters, and its plot.
4 of the sections will contain the following:
1. Description of all main characters (physical. emotional, etc)
2. Description of the setting throughout the book.
3. Summary of the story.
4. Write a 2 paragraph review (your opinion) of the book.
The other 2 sections can contain any of the following:
weather reports, editorials, cartoons, ads, etc. The title of the newspaper should be named appropriately from some part of the book. Your name, class period, AR points, Title and author of the book should be placed somewhere toward the top.
**You may type it or write it, but it MUST BE LEGIBLE!
**It may be in color, or black and white (NOT left in pencil).
*I will be checking for spelling, mechanics, usage, and effort spent in creating the newspaper. I do not expect this to be a one-night project.
*Please be neat and decorative.
**Late projects will have 50 points taken off the earned grade.
December 6th, 2007 — Book Reports & Projects
You will create a novel “movie” poster. You will take a posterboard (or half posterboard) and make sure that the following are placed somewhere o the posterboard.
They may be typed or written in black ink. **Do NOT leave anything in pencil!
1. Summary (summarize the story- 3+ paragraphs)
2. Excerpt (pick your favorite 5+ sentences- found in one paragraph within the novel)
Copy them in paragraph form on the poster- (”" around speech)
3. Review ( your opinion of the book- 2 paragraphs including explanation)
4. Location in library (where can it be found in school library)
5. Characters (pictured and labeled)
6. Title and Author (IN large letters at the top)
7. Setting (main story setting- described in 4+ sentences and drawn)
8. In Color! May be in collage form or layout form.
9. Full name and class period in bottom right hand corner!

Spinner Book Report
1st Nine Weeks Book Report
Due Date (All classes): October 3, 07
Requirements (All classes):
You will create a spinner with two pieces of paper. One (or more) piece(s) will fit on top of the other. I will provide you with a brass paper fastener for the center. You must cut out an information window in the top piece so that you can see information on the bottom sheet. You may use any materials to create this, and it may be in any shape.
You must make this project in color, legible, and neat.
Please make sure that the following information is on each sheet.
*Example will be shown in class on Wednesday, August 29, 07.
