“SAY WHAT” Quote Project
Materials needed:
A folder with brads, typing paper, use of a computer, references, and your mind:).
Purpose:
This project is to get you to think through things on a higher-level. You will be inspired by people you find important. By citing each quote, you will use and become familiar with the proper way to cite resources. (This will come in handy on the Science Fair Paper:) Best of all, you will find out about people in the past and present who molded and continue to mold our world. Maybe one day YOU will be the ones quoted!
You will type the quote, quoted person’s name, explanation of the quote, and cite where it came from. (see left)
Citation sheet attached for Books, Internet, Magazines, and Anthologies. See back of handout for how to do a citation.
Explanation:
Find one quote each week (9 total per nine wk prd-keep in folder). You will look for a person who has had a significant impact on society and who is published.
(NO oral quotes.) This person’s words should mean something to you personally:) You may only use each person 1 time all year. This project must be typed with each quote on a separate sheet of paper (one side only). Color or black ink may be used on white typing paper only. You will pick one of your quotes to present and explain on the due date. You will also turn in the folder with all quotes.
